CHEESEBURGER GRILLED CHEESE

This is the best-grilled cheese you’ve ever had – loaded with meaty, cheesy goodness! Perfect for a quick dinner!

Take Cheeseburger Pasta. Or a cheeseburger quesadilla.

There’s also the classic cheeseburger.

When I serve you this cheeseburger grilled cheesy, there is no winner in this case.

It’s even better than a burger.

No lettuce or tomatoes in the way.

Just cheese, tomatoes, and crusty, buttery bread.

Ingredients

  • Olive oil one tablespoon
  • 1 pound of ground beef*
  • Taco seasoning, one package (1.2 ounces)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • At room temperature, four tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • Eight slices of whole-wheat bread

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef until it has browned (about 3-5 minutes), crumbling the meat as you cook. Stir in taco seasoning. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add cheese and tomatoes, stirring until cheese is melted.
  • Spread butter with a butterknife on the buttery side of each bread slice. Place four pieces buttered-side down on the work surface. Distribute the ground beef mixture equally on all parts. Add remaining pieces buttered-side up.
  • Heat the skillet on low heat. Cover the sandwiches with a lid and cook them, turning them once using a spatula until they are golden brown.
  • Slice and serve right away.
